What this program involves

This ongoing stewardship program brings practical environmental education into teacher-supervised school activity. Suggested projects from the October 2026 concept proposal include: Student-designed prototypes; exhibitions; community outreach and environmental problem-solving. Each approved project should have a plan, baseline, safe responsibilities and evidence of results.

Possible school activities

  1. Identify a local environmental challenge with teachers and community members.
  2. Develop prototypes or awareness campaigns using safe, accessible materials.
  3. Present evidence and limitations rather than only bold claims.
  4. Share ideas through school showcases, mentorship or future Envirolympics events.

What schools could measure

  • Solutions tested, beneficiaries reached and documented project outcomes.
  • Learners mentored and presentations completed
  • Projects assessed against impact, feasibility and safety
Responsible implementation: Competitions, prize categories and event dates will be announced only after organisers confirm them.

How progress could be recognised

Students keep learning records and safe project evidence. Teachers review the records against clear criteria. Recognition can celebrate effort, improvement, teamwork and documented environmental outcomes without equating a badge or competition score with a carbon credit.

From stewardship program to measurable project

A school can run this program throughout the year while choosing specific projects to implement in phases. Example activities: Student-designed prototypes; exhibitions; community outreach and environmental problem-solving.

Indicators to record: Solutions tested, beneficiaries reached and documented project outcomes. All reported results require a documented baseline and teacher review.
